VOORAF EN TOE
Vooraf en Toe is a restaurant along the Nieuwe Rijn in Leiden, located in two connected historic canal houses. The split layout enhances the experience, dividing the interior into two distinct yet complementary atmospheres. The design combines the charm of traditional French bistros with a modern twist, creating a unique and esthetic atmosphere.
Upon entering, guests are greeted by a lively, creative area that showcases local artwork. This first space has a contemporary vibe with the bar as a central feature, crafted with two rounded layers of marble that add a sophisticated touch to the space. Inspired by the Parisian style but with a modern edge.
The second area, however, transitions into a more refined, classic bistro setting, where the aesthetic makes it perfect for evening gatherings.
Vooraf en Toe is a versatile, all-day destination, from morning breakfast to late-night cocktails. Its role as an art gallery adds an additional layer of community connection, supporting young, local artists and offering guests a rotating display of contemporary works to enjoy.
